Patrick White

Patrick White is the Research Director at the Nuclear Innovation Alliance where he leads project research, technical analysis, stakeholder engagement, and related activities on advanced nuclear energy. His research background includes both fission and fusion technologies, and focuses on advanced reactor licensing strategies, regulatory modernization, safety assessments of nuclear systems, and nuclear technologies and fuel cycles. In partnership with the Clean Air Task Force, he also leads research on the safety, waste, and non-proliferation aspects of commercial fusion energy. Dr. White completed his M.S. and PhD in Nuclear Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a research focus on new licensing methods and regulatory frameworks for commercial fusion technology and advanced fission reactors. Dr. White previously worked in the commercial nuclear sector as an engineer with MPR Associates and received a B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
