Aixa Belen

Aixa Belen Ojeda serves as a Senior Reactor Operations Engineer in the NRC's Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation. She rejoined NRC in July 2024. Previously, she was the Manager for Project Quality Assurance and Manager for Supplier Quality at X-energy where she was responsible for quality assurance programs and supplier oversight associated with the Xe-100 reactor design. From 2017 through 2021, Aixa served as a Senior Nuclear Safety Enforcement Specialist at the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Office of Enterprise Assessments, where she led lead several investigations related to nuclear safety incidents at facilities in the DOE's complex. From 2006 through 2017, Aixa held several positions at the NRC in the Offices of Nuclear Regulatory Research and New Reactors including Risk and Reliability Engineer, Allegations Coordinator, Enforcement Coordinator, and Vendor Quality Assurance Inspector. She was the recipient of the Office of New Reactors Vision of Success Award.

Aixa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico - Mayagüez and is a graduate of DOE's Leadership Potential Program.
