Abstract

The Safety Evaluation Report for the application filed by the Tennessee Valley Authority, as applicant and owner, for a license to operate the Watts Bar Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2 (Docket Nos. 50-390 and 50-391), has been prepared by the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The facility is located in Rhea County, Tennessee, near the Watts Bar Dam on the Tennessee River. Subject to favorable resolution of the items discussed in this report, the staff concludes that the facility can be operated by the applicant without endangering the health and safety of the public.
