Abstract
The 2006 Symposium on Valves, Pumps and Inservice Testing, jointly sponsored by the Board of Nuclear Codes and Standards of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, provides a forum for exchanging information on technical, programmatic and regulatory issues associated with inservice testing programs at nuclear power plants, including the design, operation and testing of valves and pumps. The symposium provides an opportunity to discuss improvements in design, operation and testing of valves and pumps that help to ensure their reliable performance. The participation of industry representatives, regulatory personnel, and consultants ensures the presentatation of a broad spectrum of ideas and perspectives to be discussed regarding the improvement of testing programs and methods for valves and pumps at nuclear power plants.
