NRC Names New Resident Inspector at Dresden Nuclear Power Plant

Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in Lisle, Illinois, have announced the assignment of Desiree Smith as the agency's Senior Resident Inspector at the Dresden Nuclear Power Plant in Morris, Illinois.

Smith, a NRC employee since 1987, began her new duties at Dresden Jan. 31.

Since joining the NRC, she has held a number of positions within the agency, the latest one being that of examiner trainee in which she conducted operator licensing examinations. She earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.

Smith, her husband Derek and daughter live in Maywood, Illinois.
