NRC COMMISSIONER DIAZ TO MEET WITH NEWS MEDIA FOLLOWING VISIT TO DIABLO CANYON NUCLEAR PLANT

Commissioner Nils J. Diaz of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission will hold a news conference in the PG&E Community Center on Hwy. 101 in San Luis Obispo at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 11. The conference will follow a visit to the Diablo Canyon Power Plant. Dr. Diaz will provide a perspective on Diablo Canyon's recent performance and related topics and be available for questions from the news media.

Dr. Diaz, for many years a professor of nuclear engineering at the University of Florida, was named to the Commission in August 1996 after a distinguished career as an educator, research scientist, consultant and entrepreneur.
