IMC 0609, App G, Att 2 and IMC 0609, App G, Att 3 - training was completed by workshops conducted for the SRAs.

IMC 0609, App G (Shutdown Operations Significance Determination Process) is revised to move the Phase 1 operational checklists that were previously in the main body of Appendix G and place it in a new manual chapter document. This new document is Attachment 1 to Appendix G. This separation was done to make Appendix G consistent with other SDP appendices in the manual chapter. The main body of Appendix G was changed to provide a "road map" of how to navigate through the various attachments to Appendix G. Attachments 2 and 3, which provide SDP Phase 2 guidance for PWRs and BWRs, respectively, are referenced in the revised Appendix G.

IMC 0609, App G, Att 1 (Shutdown Operations Significance Determination Process Phase 1 Operational Checklists for Both PWRs and BWRs) is added to include the PWR and BWR operational checklists used for Phase 1 of the SDP that were previously in the main body of Appendix G. No technical changes were made to the checklists. Creating a separate document was done to be consistent with the existing format of other manual chapters.

IMC 0609, App G, Att 2 (Phase 2 Significance Determination Process Template for PWR During Shutdown) is added for SDP Phase 2 evaluation of PWR shutdown findings. Attachment 2 is a separate document from the Appendix G Phase 1 guidance and is to be used exclusively by Senior Reactor Analysts (SRAs) or other risk analysts. The guidance contains a number of tables and figures, including various generic event trees that are used to assign a change in risk for shutdown operations. In the event a Phase 3 assessment is needed, the finding is sent to NRR via the regional SRA for further review.
