IMC 1246 Formal Qualification Programs in the Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards Program Area) is issued to define training and qualification requirements for personnel in the Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards (NMSS) program area. Previously NMSS training requirements were identified in IMC 1245, "Inspector Qualifications," which also included training requirements for personnel in the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation. NMSS training requirements have been revised in their entirety and placed in their own inspection manual chapter.
