NRC ADMINISTRATIVE LETTER 95-01:  CHANGE IN COMMERCIAL TELEPHONE AND
                                  FACSIMILE NUMBERS AT NUCLEAR REGULATORY      
                                  COMMISSION HEADQUARTERS

Purpose


The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is issuing this administrative
letter to inform addressees that the commercial telephone and facsimile
numbers for one of the two office buildings at NRC Headquarters are currently
being changed.  This administrative letter does not transmit or imply any new
or changed requirements or staff positions.  No specific action or written
response is required.


Discussion


The NRC Headquarters staff is located in two office buildings in Rockville,
Maryland.  Each of the office buildings, One White Flint North and Two White
Flint North, had its own unique telephone exchange prefix, 504 and 415
respectively.  The telephone exchange prefix for One White Flint North is
being changed so that all NRC Headquarters exchange prefixes will be 415.  The
area code (301) and last four suffix numbers will not be changed.  The
conversion is taking place over a three-month period and will be completed by
March 1, 1995.  As of mid-January, approximately 50 percent of the One White
Flint changes are complete.  The exchange prefix for Two White Flint North
will not change and remains 415.


For 90 days after the conversion of each number, callers to the old number
will get an intercept message informing them of the change and the new number. 

This administrative letter requires no specific action or written response.
