McGuire is performing a root cause investigation, and is communicating with the hydraulic fluid manufacturer for assistance. Enertech has personnel on-site assisting the McGuire personnel, and is in contact with the actuator manufacturer. BW/IP (actuator manufacturer) is in the process of evaluating this event under their Part 21 program. It is suspected that the hydraulic fluid temperature inside the plunger area of the solenoid valve exceeded the manufacturers recommendations for continuous operation and effected the performance of the actuator.
