                Power Letter of April 18, 1994

Gentlemen:

This letter is a follow-up to the referenced letter, in which Crane
Valves
Nuclear Operations advised that we were undertaking an
investigation with
respect to the January 1994 incident at Prairie Island Nuclear
Generating
Plant involving Crane Design Gate Valves.

Additional information has been received from nuclear plants that
also
have Crane Design Gate Valves of the same model.

It is expected that the evaluation will be completed within the
next 30
