Subject: CANCELLATION OF PROPOSED NRC INFORMATION NOTICE

Cancellation of Proposed NRC Information Notice On August 26, 1998, NRC
issued Morning Report H-98-0130 stating that we intended to issue an
information notice to inform licensees of a potential problem with a
commercially available computer code. The problem pertained to simulating
a structure with an inherently unstable model that resulted in different
results when performed on different computer platforms or operating
systems. After evaluating the problem and the information provided by the
vendor, we have concluded that an information notice is not warranted.
