NRC REGULATORY ISSUE SUMMARY 2000-03 -- RESOLUTION OF GENERIC SAFETY
ISSUE 158: PERFORMANCE OF SAFETY-RELATED POWER-OPERATED VALVES UNDER
DESIGN BASIS CONDITIONS dated March 15, 2000

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission issued this regulatory issue
summary to inform addressees of the closure of Generic Safety Issue 158,
"Performance of Safety- Related Power-Operated Valves Under Design Basis
Conditions," and of the staff's intent to continue to work with industry
groups and to monitor addressees' activities to ensure that
safety-related power-operated valves (POVs) are capable of performing
their specified functions under design basis conditions.
