Discussion:

On January 18, 1999, the LaSalle Unit 2 outage organization will
transition back under site management. Work being completed during the
extended Unit 2 refueling outage was being performed under the direction
of the Commonwealth Edison (ComEd) Nuclear Generation Group (NGG) while
the site organization focused on operating Unit 1. The licensee indicated
that the transition was to shift the focus of the station to the upcoming
testing and subsequent operation of Unit 2, which was planned for May
1999. Unit 2 was shut down in September 1996 for a refueling outage and
remained shut down to address problems with human performance, corrective
action program deficiencies, material condition deficiencies, and
engineering and design issues.

The licensee also announced that Jim Meister will become the Site
Engineering Manager. Mr. Meister was the Unit 2 Restart Engineering
Manager. Mr. Meister will replace Guy Campbell, who will be leaving ComEd
for a position at Lockheed Martin. In addition, Jeff Place will replace
Neil Hightower as the Radiation Protection Manager. Mr. Place was
formally the Radiation Protection Manager at Clinton Power Station.
