Personnel is informed about the gauge with proper signage, and the RSO does not believe any exposure to personnel occurred, because the shutter is normally in the open position. A licensed Berthold technician has been contacted and will come to the site to repair the gauge. It is reportable within 24 hours per 10 CFR 30.50(b)(2). "During normal daily operations, a density gauge was found to have a shutter that was nonresponsive and stuck in the open position. No overexposures have occurred and the gauge has been taken out of service. A service provider has already made the necessary repairs as of today, October 17, 2016. The gauge is an Ohmart/Vega Model SHLG. The serial number of the device is unknown at this time. The device originally contained 1200 millicuries of Cs-137.
