Comments
On March 14, 2023, the NRC published the final Enhanced Weapons rule in the Federal Register (88 FR 15864), along with several supporting guidance documents. The compliance period for this rule ends on January 8, 2024.

After publication of the final rule, impacted licensees identified several questions in the supporting regulatory guidance documents and requested the NRC provide clarification. The NRC staff has determined that additional clarification is warranted to support licensee’s timely and efficient implementation of the published final rule. Accordingly, the NRC staff has developed limited-scope revisions in three DGs to clarify these guidance documents and provided for public notice and opportunity for comment via separate Federal Register notices.
