Purpose
The purpose of this regulatory conference is to discuss the
safety significance of a preliminary finding of low to moderate
safety significance and an associated apparent violation of NRC
requirements regarding radiation monitor calibration and
maintenance issues affecting Waterford Steam Electric Station,
Unit 3’s ability y to appropriately classify emergency action
levels and to perform radiation dose assessments. This
discussion is part of a process NRC uses before making a final
determination. The finding and apparent violation are discussed
in NRC Inspection Report 05000382/2022501, dated June 11,
2022 (NRC's Agencywide Documents Access and Management
