Purpose
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff is hosting a webinar to provide an opportunity for external stakeholders to exchange information with the NRC staff on the NRC’s development of the Part 53 proposed rule for commercial nuclear plants. The NRC staff will discuss an assortment of key topics that have arisen while preparing the rulemaking package, including those from public comments received on the Part 53 preliminary proposed rule language.
The NRC staff has previously consolidated the Part 53 preliminary proposed rule language into one document, dated February 1, 2022. This document is available in ADAMS under accession number ML22024A066 and on the regulations.gov website under docket ID NRC-2019-0062.
This meeting provides an opportunity for the NRC staff to hear insights and answer questions from the public about the Part 53 rulemaking effort.
