Purpose
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff is hosting a webinar to provide an opportunity for non-governmental organizations and other external stakeholders to exchange information with the NRC staff on the NRC’s development of the Part 53 proposed rule for advanced nuclear reactors. The NRC staff will provide a high-level overview of the proposed rule to engage stakeholders whose participation may have been limited due to the pace of this rulemaking.
To support previous public meetings, the NRC staff has released a series of separate “Discussion Tables” for Part 53, Part 26, and Part 73 containing preliminary proposed rule language. These documents are available in ADAMS under accession number ML20289A534. In addition, the NRC staff has consolidated the Part 53 preliminary proposed rule language into one document. This document is available in ADAMS under accession number ML22024A066 and on the regulations.gov website under docket ID NRC-2019-0062.
