Purpose

The NRC and NEI will discuss NEI’s draft revision of NEI 17-06, Rev 0, “Guidance on Using IEC 61508 SIL Certification to Support the Acceptance of Commercial Grade Digital Equipment for Nuclear Safety Related Applications ” submittal that is scheduled for December 3, 2021. During this meeting the staff’s draft regulatory guide which would potentially endorse NEI 17-06, if the proposed guidance is found acceptable will also be discussed.
