Purpose
The purpose of this meeting is to share insights and lessons learned in applying regulatory tools for digital instrumentation and controls (I&C) modernization projects. This workshop will primarily focus on NRC and industry perspectives on the licensing revised review guidance in Interim Staff Guidance (ISG)-06, “Licensing Process,” Revision 2, Alternate Review Process for major digital I&C modernization projects.

Additional Meeting Information: Key topics for this workshop will include digital modernization licensing activities by both NRC and industry, and the real-time lessons-learned in applying ISG-06, including the interface with inspections. The workshop will also include a brief overview of relevant licensing and oversight activities for digital I&C modifications implemented in accordance with 10 CFR 50.59. Members of the public and utilities interested in plant modernization are encouraged to attend.
