The purpose of this predecisional enforcement conference is to discuss the five apparent violations identified by the NRC, involving the licensee’s loss of a portable nuclear gauge from the back of a licensee vehicle which was recovered by a member of the public. Specifically, the licensee’s apparent violations included the failure to properly control licensed radioactive material and make timely notifications to the NRC following the radioactive material’s loss. The apparent violations are discussed in NRC Inspection Report 030 32176/2019-005, dated April 1, 2020 (ADAMS Accession No. ML20093A783).
