Meeting Info

Purpose
There are two purposes of this meeting:
1. Discuss the proposed revisions to Branch Technical Position (BTP) 7-19, Guidance for Evaluation of Diversity and Defense-In-Depth in Digital Computer-Based Instrumentation and Control Systems.
2. On January 31, 2019, industry identified four “Barriers” to the efficient use of digital technology in nuclear power plants (ADAMS Accession No. ML19025A307). The purpose of this portion of the meeting is for the NRC to gain a detailed understanding and obtain real world examples of why or how the January 31st listed barriers are delaying the efficient use of digital technology in nuclear power plants (e.g., for industry to provide associated real world examples). Any additional real world examples that demonstrate “barriers” to the efficient use of digital technology in nuclear power plants can be identified at the meeting as well, time permitting.
