Public Meeting Schedule: Meeting Details

The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the draft regulatory basis and associated preliminary draft regulatory analysis (ML16271A511) for the rulemaking on regulatory improvements for power reactors transitioning to decommissioning. The NRC staff published the draft regulatory basis for comment on March 15, 2017 (82 FR 13778).The staff plans to publish the preliminary draft regulatory analysis for comment by the end of April. Specifically, the objective of this meeting is to enhance external stakeholders’ understanding of these two documents to inform development of comment submissions. During this meeting, the NRC staff will provide presentations on the draft regulatory basis and the preliminary draft regulatory analysis. Members of the public are also encouraged to ask questions and provide feedback during this meeting. However, the NRC is not taking formal comments at this meeting. All comments must be submitted in writing in accordance with the instructions listed in the Federal Register notice.
