Purpose
The purpose of this workshop is to bring together Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff, regulated utilities, vendors of nuclear components, and other interested stakeholders to discuss vendor oversight issues. Discussion topics will include Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 21, commercial grade dedication, reverse engineering, NRC draft guidance document DG-1305 "Acceptance of Commercial Grade Design and Analysis Computer Program for Nuclear Power Plants," of Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) document 1025243 "Guidance for acceptance of Commercial Grade Design and Analysis Computer Programs," key vendor issues, and the international laboratory accreditation cooperation related to commercial calibration and testing laboratories. In addition to presentations by the NRC staff, there will be presentations by Nuclear Procurement Issues Committee, Nuclear Energy Institute, EPRI, and one nuclear vendor.
