Purpose
The purpose of the meeting is to afford external stakeholders an opportunity to ask the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff clarifying and amplifying questions on the proposed non-power production or utilization facility (NPUF) license renewal rulemaking. It also provides an opportunity for external stakeholders and the NRC staff to exchange information on the proposed rule to facilitate more accurate and complete understanding by all parties on these subject matters.
This meeting provides an opportunity for the NRC staff to answer questions about the proposed NPUF rulemaking; however, it is not a forum to negotiate the content of the proposed rule or guidance documents. No formal comments on the proposed NPUF rule or guidance documents are being solicited and no requests for an additional comment period will be entertained at this meeting. Comments on the proposed rule and/or comment period extension requests should be made per the instructions in the Federal Register notice.
