NuScale will submit the VIPRE Steady-State Thermal Hydraulics Subchannel methodology in February 2016. The purpose of this pre-app engagement is to discuss the codes and methods employed to evaluate the NuScale design and will include a description of the VIPRE code, underlying methodologies, intended usage, validation, and a discussion of how code uncertainty is applied. The NRC has determined, in accordance with Title 10 in the Code of Federal Regulations 2.390 that a portion of the information discussed during the meeting is proprietary in nature and therefore should be closed to the public. The agenda notes times of Open and Closed discussion.
