Purpose
The purpose of this meeting is for the NRC staff to discuss the proposed rule, “Variable Annual Fee Structure for Small Modular Reactors,” that would implement an annual fee structure (10 CFR 171) for small modular reactors. In addition, the NRC staff will discuss the draft regulatory analysis for the proposed rule. On November 4, 2015, the NRC published in the Federal Register, a request for public comment on the proposed rule and draft regulatory analysis, http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2015-11-04/pdf/2015-28110.pdf.
Stakeholders will have an opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification from the NRC staff about the proposed rule and draft regulatory analysis, to facilitate their document review and submittal of written comments by December 4, 2015. The NRC staff will not be accepting formal comments at this meeting. Stakeholders may submit written comments on the proposed rule and draft regulatory analysis through the formal process outlined in the Federal Register notice
