Purpose
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the written comments received from the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI), industry, states. and the public for the NRC’s proposed rule to revise and consolidate the NRC regulations for material control and accounting of special nuclear material and the associated proposed guidance documents.
The proposed rule and the notice of availability of the proposed guidance were published in the Federal Register for public comment on November 8, 2013. The proposed rule, associated guidance, comment letters from NEI and interested parties, and other information related to the rulemaking are available for review at: www.regulations.gov under Docket ID NRC-2009-0096 and Docket ID NRC-2013-0195. Meeting information will also be made available under these docket IDs prior to the meeting.
