Purpose
The purpose of the meeting is to provide information about an
upcoming proposed rule to incorporate by reference American
Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) codes1 into NRC
regulations. The NRC also intends to include the following
additional actions in the upcoming proposed rule:
• NRC approval for use of NQA-1
• NRC approval of certain ASME Code Cases in advance of
the next NRC rulemaking approving for use Code Cases
(listed in regulatory guides)
• Proposed NRC conditions on the use of the OM Code
