Theresa Clark

Theresa Valentine Clark is the Director of the Division of Safety Systems at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Her division is responsible for fuel, reactor system, safety system, and technical specification reviews for operating and new reactors, as well as for the development of policies, regulations, and guidance relevant to the safety of advanced fuels. Ms. Clark has worked at the NRC for over 20 years in a variety of technical, policy support, and supervisory positions, in both reactor and radioactive materials regulation. In addition, she has represented the United States as a senior-level representative in various working groups and peer-review missions for the International Atomic Energy Agency. Ms. Clark is passionate about recruiting and mentoring, with particular focus on developing a pipeline of talent in critical skill areas like nuclear engineering and health physics and and increasing the NRC's recruiting reach to Native communities.
