Laura Dudes
Laura A. Dudes serves as the acting Director, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation.
Ms. Dudes joined the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in 1994 as a Reactor Engineer Intern. Since that time, she has held a number of positions including: Region I, Division of Reactor Safety inspector performing metallurgical and engineering inspections; Resident Inspector, Indian Point 3; Senior Resident Inspector, Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station; Technical Assistant, Division of Inspection Program Management; Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation, Enforcement Coordinator; and Chief, New Reactor Licensing.
Since joining the Senior Executive Service (SES) in 2007, Ms. Dudes has served as the Deputy Director, Division of Engineering, Office of New Reactors (NRO); Director, Division of Construction Inspection and Operational Programs, NRO; Director, Division of Materials Safety and State Agreement, Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards; the Deputy Regional Administrator, Region II; and, most recently, as Regional Administrator for Region II.
Ms. Dudes received a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. She is a 2007 graduate of NRC’s SES Candidate Development Program.
