Kristen Kerwin

Kristin Kerwin serves as the Environment, Safety and Health Director within the U.S. Department of Energy'ss (DOE) Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED). In this role, she leads environmental, health, and safety compliance for OCED, a new office responsible for delivering $21.5 billion from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to support large-scale clean energy demonstration projects. Kristin has over eighteen years of environmental compliance experience in support of DOE's clean energy mission. Most recently, she served as the NEPA Division Director at DOE's Golden Field Office (GFO). In this role, Kristin directed compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and related regulations for DOE' Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), responsible for creating and sustaining American leadership in the transition to a global clean energy economy. She has served in a variety of roles in the GFO NEPA Division since 2004, including over a decade as a DOE NEPA Compliance Officer. Kristin has a Master of Professional Studies degree in Environmental Science from the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry and a Master of Public Administration degree from Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.
