Kamishan Martin

Kamishan Martin has been in the nuclear industry for the past 20 years. She started her career with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission upon completing Florida A&M University with a masters in industrial engineering having received prior a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering from Florida State University. She then completed the rotational NSPDP program at the NRC landing in the subject matter area of human factors engineering. Initially focusing on licensing work, she also worked on rule-making efforts in the area of fatigue management and fitness for duty. She became a safety culture specialist working on multiple inspections of sites over the years allowing her to interface not only with inspectors in all regional offices but on-site with safety experts and security specialists. In 2021, Kamishan completed a five year secondment with the Nuclear Energy Agency located in France. There she interacted daily with international colleagues and focused on safety culture, human and organizational factors, public communication and stakeholder involvement regarding waste management and decommissioning activities. Upon returning to the NRC, she is now focusing primarily on licensing and rule-making activities as a human factors engineer once again.
