Due to a lapse in appropriations, the NRC has ceased normal operations. However, excepted and exempted activities necessary to maintain critical health and safety functions—as well as essential progress on designated critical activities, including those specified in Executive Order 14300—will continue, consistent with the OMB-Approved NRC Lapse Plan.

Eric Thornsbury

Eric Thornsbury is a Technical Leader III at EPRI. His current responsibilities include leading various technical research projects in support of the nuclear power industry, with a specific focus on the use of Risk Analysis in advanced nuclear plant design, licensing, and operation. Prior to joining EPRI in 2022, Eric was a Director and Consultant with ERIN Engineering & Jensen Hughes for 15 years, after previously serving at the US NRC for 10 years in the Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research and as an ACRS Senior Staff Engineer.
