Due to a lapse in appropriations, the NRC has ceased normal operations. However, excepted and exempted activities necessary to maintain critical health and safety functions—as well as essential progress on designated critical activities, including those specified in Executive Order 14300—will continue, consistent with the OMB-Approved NRC Lapse Plan.

Bruce Montgomery

Bruce Montgomery is currently Director, Decommissioning and Used Fuel at the Nuclear Energy Institute. Bruce has 45 years of commercial nuclear experience with Bechtel Power Corporation, Baltimore Gas and Electric Company, Constellation Energy and Exelon. Now at NEI, Bruce is responsible for industry policy on decommissioning matters where he runs the NEI Decommissioning Working Group.

Bruce graduated from the US Naval Academy 1976 with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering and is a member of the American Nuclear Society.
