Daniel King
Daniel King is the Acting Chief of the Licensing Data Analytics, Tools, and Assessments Branch (LDATA) in the Division of Operating Reactor Licensing (DORL), Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR). Mr. King joined the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in 2022 as a Project Manager, leading mission-critical efforts such as the Accident Tolerant Fuel (ATF) and Increased Enrichment Rulemaking projects. He later served as Technical Assistant in DORL, where he supported implementation of the ADVANCE Act, Executive Order 14300, and budget formulation and execution, before assuming his current leadership role. Prior to joining the NRC, Mr. King was a Naval Submarine Officer. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Engineering Management from Old Dominion University. He completed the NRC’s Aspiring Leader Certificate Program, training in Six Sigma Green Belt through Syracuse University’s Onward to Opportunity (O2O) program and is certified as a Resilience-Building Leadership Professional Trainer (RBLP-T).
