NOTE TO EDITORS:

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has received three reports from its Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards following the Committee's meeting May 5-8. The reports provide comments on :

  • Modifications proposed by the Westinghouse Owners Group to the core damage assessment guidelines and post accident sampling system requirements;
  • The role of defense in depth in a risk-informed regulatory system;
  • Interim letter on the safety aspects of the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company's license renewal application for Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant, Units 1and 2.
