A representative of Best Foods called the NRC Operations Center to report
the apparent theft of a process gauge. The device, a Filtec model CI-2GV
case inspector (serial #75009), could not be located for its triennial
leakage test. The gauge contains a 100 millicurie Am-241 source (source
#3428). The gauge was last swipe tested in 1996. The gauge was a spare, and
has been kept in a storage area with other spare parts. The caller was
unsure whether a police report would be filed.
