SUBJECT: CRITERIA FOR THE TREATMENT OF INDIVIDUAL REQUIREMENTS IN A REGULATORY ANALYSIS

During the 491st meeting of the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards, April 11-12, 2002, the Committee considered the staff's initiative to revise NUREG-BR-0058, "Regulatory Guidelines of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission," to clarify the treatment of individual requirements in regulatory analysis. The Committee has decided not to hold a briefing on the preliminary proposed criteria at this time. The Committee plans to review the incorporation of the proposed criteria into NUREG-BR-0058 prior to being issued for public comment.
