TRAINING: No special training requirements have been identified for any documents issued with this change notice.
REMARKS:
IMC 1301 (Response to Radioactive Material Incidents That Do Not Require Activation of the NRC Incident Response Plan) is revised to include additional guidance for situations involving intakes of radioactive materials. The revision is prompted by experience gained from investigation of incidents at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) involving ingestion of radioactive phosphorus (P-32). An additional criterion, based on the magnitude of the intake, for immediate dispatch of one or more regional inspectors for follow-up, was also added.
IMC 2605 (Decommissioning Procedures For Fuel Cycle and Materials Licensees) is issued to establish policies and procedures for decommissioning fuel cycle and materials licensees.
9900 Technical Guidance (ASME Sections III & XI) has been revised to reflect minor editorial changes.
