SUPPLEMENT TO 10CFR2I INTERIM REPORT, GE MODEL CR2940U301 SWITCH SALEM GENERATING STATION UNITS I AND 2 FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NO. DPR-70 AND DPR-75 DOCKET NOS. 50-272 AND 311

This letter provides a second supplement to the 10CFR21interim report submitted in LR-N00005, dated January 8, 2000. The subject interim report provided notification of a potentially reportable deficiency due to failure of two new General Electric (GE) Model CR2940U301 switches and stated that the vendor (GE) was performing a failure analysis that was expected to be completed by February 29, 2000. The analysis was not completed by February 29, 2000, and a supplement was submitted in LR-N000132, dated April 12, 2000, indicating that the failure analysis was expected to be completed by June 15, 2000. As of June 15, 2000, PSE&G has not received documentation of the failure analysis. Documentation of the analysis is expected to be completed by July 15, 2000.
