Subject: Our notification to you, Event Number 35473, at 4:11 PM March15,1999

Dear Mr. Stransky

In accordance with 10CFR21 this letter is to inform you that Foxboro Co. can not provide detail documentation of the inspection criteria to support the inspection process for spare parts that may have been released to customers in support of Foxboro Nuclear Qualified products. The time period affected is from March 31, 1998 to March 12, 1999.

There is no evidence of any failures or defects in these parts.

Foxboro is taking immediate corrective action to rectify the situation and will notify all utilities affected.

Foxboro Co. will be notifying those Nuclear Utilities that have purchased Commercial spare parts since April 1998. A review for Corrective Action is still under investigation.
