FINAL 10CFR21 NOTIFICATION
REF: 1) TU Electric letter logged TXX-96034 dated January 29, 1996
from C. L. Terry to the USNRC
Gentlemen:
Per reference 1, TU Electric notified the NRC in accordance with
10CFR21.21(a)(2) of a deviation that TU Electric is evaluating for
reportability per 10CFR21. Reference 1 noted that the evaluation of this
deviation would be completed by February 29, 1996. The purpose of this
letter is to update the status of the evaluation.
The bearings for the two Unit 2 Fan Coil Units (FCUs) have been inspected
and no linear indications were identified. The bearings for the two Unit
1 FCUs have not been inspected. The evaluation to date has not
identified a deviation which could create a substantial safety hazard and
TU Electric believes that this condition is not reportable per 10CFR21.
The Unit 1 FCU bearings will be inspected prior to installation of the
FCUs during the upcoming refueling outage on Unit 1.
As required by 10CFR21, TU Electric will notify the NRC if a deviation is
identified during inspection of the Unit 1 bearings which could create a
substantial safety hazard.
Sincerely,
C. L. Terry
