Calibration Error Affecting Some Air Velocity Test Instrument

April 24, 1995

Attn: Quality Assurance Manager
          Calibration Laboratory Manager

Dear Valued TSI Customer:

TSI values its reputation as a provider of high quality, accurate
measurement instruments. As part of our on-going evaluation of our
manufacturing processes, we have identified an error in high air velocity
calibrations. We have not identified any error at low velocities (below
250 feet per minute). From 250 to 1000 fpm the error steadily increases
from zero to approximately 2.25%. The error remains constant at
approximately 2.25% at velocities higher than 1000 fpm. For example: If
the instrument displays 1000 fpm, the true velocity would be 1020 fpm.

Figure omitted.

IMPORTANT: The identified error affects the following instruments:
VELOCICALC [Registered Trademark] Models 8350, 8352,
                           8355, 8357 and 8360
Air Velocity Transducers Models 8450, 8460 and 8470

This calibration error affects both new instruments and recalibrated
instruments. Therefore, in our interest of maintaining high value for
our instrument users, TSI will temporarily provide velocity
recalibrations at no charge on the above-referenced models manufactureded
or serviced between April 1, 1994 and April 19, 1995. This temporary
offer expires on July 31, 1995. If you are a user of the VELOCICALC
[Registered Trademark] Plus Model 8360 and you wish to have the humidity
and pressure functions recalibrated as well, we will provide this service
at a reduced rate of $100. Please contact our Customer Support Service
Group at 800-876-9874 to schedule the return of your instrument for
recalibration.

We value our customers and apologize for any inconvenience this may have
caused you.
