1) 8:30 - 8:40 A.M. Opening Statement (Open) (GMH/JTL)
    The Chairman will open the meeting with brief opening remarks, outline the topics to be discussed, and indicate several items of interest.
2) 8:40 - 9:40 A.M. ACNW Planning and Procedures (Open) (GMH/ALL)
    The Committee will discuss the items noted below.
    2.1) Commitments from the ACNW 131st meeting
    2.2) Issues for the 132nd ACNW meeting
    2.3) Topics for March 2002 ACNW meeting
    2.4) Topics for June 2002 meeting in Nevada
    2.5) Potential Working Group/Workshop Topics
    2.6) EDO responses to Committee reports
    2.7) EDO's list of future meeting topics
    2.8) ACNW Calendar for 2002
    2.9) DOE/BSC Meeting Status
   9:40 - 10:00 A.M. ***BREAK**
3) 10:00 - 12:00 Noon Meeting with the EDO and the Office Directors of NRR, NMSS, and RES (GEA/GMH/JTL)
    3.1) Remarks by the ACRS Chairman and ACNW Chairman
    3.2) Discussions with the NRC Executive Director for Operations (EDO), Directors of the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR), Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research (RES), and Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards (NMSS) on items of mutual interest.
    Members of the ACRS will participate in this discussion.
   12:00 - 1:00 P.M. ***LUNCH**
4) 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. Update on Igneous Activity including PA Analyses (Open) (GMH/ACC)
    The staff will provide an update on the igneous activity KTI, including the related PA analyses.
5) 2:00 - 6:00 P.M. Preparation for Meeting with the NRC Commissioners (Open)
   (4:00-4:15 P.M. BREAK) (ALL)
    The next meeting with the NRC Commissioners is scheduled to be held in the Commissioners' Conference Room, One White Flint North on March 20, 2002. The Committee will review its proposed presentations.

6) 8:30 - 8:35 A.M. Opening Statement (Open) (GMH/JTL)
    The Chairman will make opening remarks regarding the conduct of today's sessions.
7) 8:35 - 10:15 A.M. Annual Research Report to the Commission (Open) (GMH/RPS)
    The Committee will discuss its annual report to the Commission on waste-related research.
   10:15 - 10:30 A.M. ***BREAK***
8) 10:30 - 12:00 Noon Preparation of ACNW Reports (Open) The Committee will discuss proposed reports on the following topics:
    8.1) Proposed Amendment to 10 CFR Part 63 (BJG/RKM)
    8.2) Update on Igneous Activity including PA Analyses (GMH/ACC)
    8.3) Annual Research Report to the Commission (GMH/RPS)
    8.4) Key Technical Issue Status (ML/JTL, et al.) (tentative)
   12:30 - 1:30 P.M. ***LUNCH***
 9) 1:30 - 3:30 P.M. Preparation for Meeting with the NRC Commissioners (Open) (ALL)
    The Committee will continue its discussion of preparations noted in item 5 above.
10) 3:30 - 5:00 P.M. Preparation of ACNW Reports (Open)
The Committee will continue its discussion of proposed reports noted in item 8 above.
11) 5:00 - 6:00P.M. Miscellaneous (Open)
     The Committee will discuss matters related to the conduct of Committee activities and matters and specific issues that were not completed during previous meetings, as time and availability of information permit.

NOTE:

  • Presentation time should not exceed 50 percent of the total time allocated for a specific item. The remaining 50 percent of the time is reserved for discussion.
  • Thirty-Five (35) copies of the presentation materials should be provided to the ACRS.
  • ACNW meeting schedules are subject to change. Presentations may be canceled or rescheduled to another day. If such a change would result in significant inconvenience or hardship, be sure to verify the schedule with Mr. Howard Larson at 301-415-6805 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., several days prior to the meeting.
  • Members may be excused from time-to-time to interview candidates for the vacant ACNW member position.
