Question 110: Can a radiography licensee consider an
individual's exposure, received during a source retrieval,
as a planned special exposure if an approved generic
procedure for source retrieval is on file? Assume that
this procedure addresses all the administrative and
recordkeeping requirements of 10 CFR 20.1206.
Answer: Yes, provided it is an exceptional situation when
alternatives that might avoid higher exposures are
unavailable or are impractical. (Reference 10 CFR 20.1206)
