Environmental Impact Statement

NUREG-1437, "Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants Regarding Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station Units 1, 2, and 3 (NUREG-1437, Supplement 43)Final Report," was published in January 2011. This supplement documents the NRC staff's review of the environmental issues at Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station Units 1, 2, and 3, regarding the Arizona Public Service Company application for license renewal of that facility. The supplement was prepared in accordance with 10 CFR 51.71. This supplemental environmental impact statement includes the Staff's analysis that considers and weighs the environmental effects of the proposed action (license renewal), the environmental impacts of alternatives to the proposed action, and potential mitigative measures for reducing or avoiding adverse impacts. It also includes the Staff's preliminary recommendation regarding the proposed action.

Safety Evaluation Report

The NRC staff reviewed the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, Units 1, 2, and 3, license renewal application for compliance with the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 54, "Requirements for Renewal of Operating Licenses for Nuclear Power Plants," and prepared this report to document its preliminary findings. The document was issued on August 6, 2010, as "Safety Evaluation Report with Open Items Related to the License Renewal of Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, Units 1, 2, and 3."

Subsequently, on January 11, 2011, the document "Safety Evaluation Report Related to the License Renewal of Palo Verde Nuclear Power Station, Units 1, 2, and 3" was issued.

In April 2011, the staff published the final "Safety Evaluation Report Related to the License Renewal of Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station, Units 1, 2, and 3" as NUREG-1961.
