Environmental Impact Statement

NUREG-1437, "Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants Regarding Duane Arnold Energy Center (NUREG-1437, Supplement 42) Final Report," was published in October 2010. This supplement documents the NRC's review of the environmental issues at Duane Arnold Energy Center, regarding the NextEra Energy Duane Arnold, LLC application for license renewal of that facility. The supplement was prepared in accordance with 10 CFR 51.71 and 10 CRF 51.91. This supplemental environmental impact statement includes the NRC’s analysis that considers and weighs the environmental effects of the proposed action (license renewal), the environmental impacts of alternatives to the proposed action, and potential mitigative measures for reducing or avoiding adverse impacts. It also includes the NRC’s recommendation regarding the proposed action.

Safety Evaluation Report

The NRC staff reviewed the Duane Arnold Energy Center license renewal application for compliance with the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 54, "Requirements for Renewal of Operating Licenses for Nuclear Power Plants," and prepared this report to document its findings. The document was issued on May 7, 2010, as "Safety Evaluation Report Related to the License Renewal of Duane Arnold Energy Center."

Subsequently, on September 2, 2010 the document "Safety Evaluation Report Related to the License Renewal of Duane Arnold Energy Center" was issued.

In November 2010, the report "Safety Evaluation Report Related to the License Renewal of Duane Arnold Energy Center" was issued as NUREG-1955.
