Charles Casto

Charles A. Casto is the Deputy Regional Administrator for Construction in Region II. Mr. Casto started his career in nuclear power working on the construction of Sequoyah Unit 2. Post construction and reactor startup, he transferred into operations. He was a licensed operator and operations instructor at Browns Ferry and an NRC certified SRO instructor at Brunswick. Mr. Casto joined the NRC in 1985 as an Operator Licensing Examiner in Region II. He also serves in an appointed position to the Cobb County School system as the Chairman of the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax committee that provides oversight for a $2.4B school construction program. Mr. Casto received.a Bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York and a Masters degree in Public Administration from the University of Georgia.
